FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION OBJECTIVEIncumbents are responsible for monitoring and oversight of the operations in their areas.  Performs reconciliations, approves requisitions and EPARS, researches and troubleshoots problems.  Provides training and guidance to school sites and departments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

 

  1. Receives and processes a variety of forms, data, fixed assets, and/or information, which may include: deposit slips and/or corrections, NSF checks, data sheets, bank statements, cash summaries, purchase orders, requisitions, change orders, refunds for withdrawn students, bonds, travel reimbursements, building renewals, fixed assets, inventory forms, invoices, and other related files and/or records. Maintains related files and/or records. May prepare and deliver bank deposits.
  2. Receives cash for accounts receivables; posts receipts into general ledger.
  3. Assists customers and employees with requests for information. Researches and resolved discrepancies and/or erroneous data.
  4. Verifies monitors, analyzes and reconciles financial information for an assigned area. Performs journal entries for the purpose of classifying expenses, revenues, assets, and/or liablilities.
  5. Creates reviews, analyzes, interprets, and maintains a variet of records systems and logs.
  6. Approves requisitions and EPARs for coding accuracy.
  7. Assists in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
  8. Assisits in training school and department staff.
  9. Prepares a variety of reports and/oro statistical data with information obtained from databases and/or spreadsheets.
  10. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):

Associate’s Degree in accounting, bookkeeping or related field, and five years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably directly related to the area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
