POSITION OBJECTIVEThis is the base-level position of the network support team. Incumbents act as a technical resource in functional area and support a variety of information systems, WAN/LAN infrastructure and server OS and hardware maintenance and support. Incumbents also are responsible for data backup, District level support for creating and administrating OS and Software deployment.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

  1. Serves as a member of the networking support staff, which may include: providing complex technical support, assistance, and customer service to school administration, staff, and students. Performing routine maintenance and updates to Active Directory including the creation and deletion of user accounts for students, staff and parents, supporting physical network infrastructure (cabling, switches, routers, etc.)
  2. Works with network engineers and technical support staff to implement current network projects. This may include physical installation of networking hardware, software, cabling, etc. Perform troubleshooting and research for problem solution and potential new software or hardware solutions.
  3. Create, manage, maintain and deploy district level support for OS and software deployment including software and security patches.
  4. Work collaboratively to provide IT support specialists with access as appropriate to Network resources.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):

Vocational training in computer science, and four years of IT support and/or repair experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

 

 

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require):

Licensing Requirements:

·         Valid Arizona Driver’s License;

·         A+ Certification preferred; or equivalent experience and/or knowledge.

·         Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) preferred; or equivalent experience and/or                          knowledge.

·         Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred; or equivalent experience and/or knowledge.

 

KNOWLEDGE: (position requirements at entry):

Knowledge of:

·         Advanced proficiency in computer image development and deployment

·         Operating systems;

·         Software, hardware, and networking principles;

·         Customer service principles;

·         Computer technology;

·         Mathematical concepts;

·         Electronics;

·         Network structures;

·         Database systems;

·         MS SCCM training or experience

·         Mobile Device management experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

Light Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.

Return To Work Retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 9% lower than listed below without falling below minimum wage.
