POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Security Systems Supervisor is a hands-on role requiring a high level of technical expertise. This position is responsible for selecting, architechting, and managing all in-house security systems, surveillance, network, and audio/visual equipment within the Scottsdale Unified School District. The Security Systems Supervisor must possess adeptness in handling disparate applications and data systems to uphold the rigorous standards mandated by the district. While the role is housedwithin the Information Technology Department, there is a dual reporting structure with both the Chief Systems Officer and the Director of Safety and Security.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

- Supervise the district’s Video Security Specialist.
- Ensure proper installation, configuration, and functionality of security hardware and software.
- Develop and implement long-term security strategies for the district, considering emerging technologies and best practices.
- Evaluate proposed configurations to ensure system integrity, security, and compliance and conduct regular inspections and audits.
- Define security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications.
- Establish, document, communicate, and enforce security policies, principles, and standards related to digital security systems.
7. Coordinate with emergency responders during security incidents as directed and serve as a member of the district Incident Command Team.
- Provide training and awareness programs for district employees on security systems, procedures, and best practices.
- Efficiently manage multiple project responsibilities simultaneously.
- Build positive working relationships and cummicate effectively with staff, external vendors, and other departments.
- Collaborate on critical projects to address security issues throughout the project life cycle.
- Maintain industry connections with similar peer positions both in education and around the state.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require):
· 3 years of experience in project management
· 3 years of experience related to the installation and/or design and management of integrated electronic security systems.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require):
Licensing Requirements:
· Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
· Technology or Network certifications and experience preferred.
· Ability to obtain an Arizona IVP Clearance Card.

KNOWLEDGE: (position requirements at entry):
Knowledge of:
· Security systems, including access control, video surveillance, visitor management, alarm systems and building security.
· Emerging security technologies and trends.
· Project management principles.
· Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
· Maintain current knowledge on job related products in the marketplace, Arizona law, and governing board policy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. May be subjected to moving mechanical parts and electrical currents. Must have ability to work on ladders and lifts at various heights
