POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Incumbents are responsible for assisting the Teaching and Learning Department with English Learner (EL) student data, testing, monitorinag, and verifying that school site files meet State compliance requirements.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)

 

 

1.    Ensure all Arizona Department of Education and Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) policies and               guidelines are maintained and adhered to in the Teaching and Learning Department.

2.    Receives and processes a variety of forms, data and/or information, which may include; data sheets, state         forms, test results.

3.    Maintains related files and/or records in office and school sites.

4.    Performs routine office activities, which may include making copies; filing; sorting, opening, and

       distributing mail; entering information into a student database; faxing documents; and, performing other           related activities.

5.    Helps maintain SUSD’s Student Data base (Synergy) for state accountability.

6.    Assists customers and employees with requests for information over the phone and in person; researches           and resolves discrepancies and/or erroneous data.

7.    Prepares a variety of routine reports with information obtained from databases and/or spreadsheets.

8.    Researches discrepancies of student information on state reports to ensure accuracy and monitory                     accountability.

9.    Performs other duties of a similar nature or  level as needed.

 

EDUCATION   & EXPERIENCE:   (positions in this class typically require):

High School Diploma, or G.E.D., or, an equivalent combination of education and work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.  Excel and Word skills preferred.

 

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require): Licensing Requirements:

•      None Required.

•      General office procedures;

•      Recordkeeping practices and procedures;

•      Filing techniques and practices;

•      Modern office equipment;

•      Applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations;

•      General practices and procedures in  area of assignment;

•      Grammar, punctuation, and spelling;

•      Basic understanding of English Learner (EL) program.

•    Using a computer and related software applications;

•    Operating modern office equipment;

•    Entering information into a database;

•    Using a 10-key machine;

•    Resolving data discrepancies;

•    Maintaining records;

•    Filing;

•    Processing information and paperwork;

•    Communication/ interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, and general public,        sufficient enough to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

 

PHYSICAL  REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

 

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
